Building in Public
Working on Lumina
Last week I shared with you that I’ve been working on a writing app called, Lumina. Many of you signed up to receive early access, and I appreciate it! If that’s you, you’ll receive the link on May 4th, a full week before anyone else!
If you haven’t signed up to receive early access, you still have time. If you want to do so, you can click here.
Like I mentioned, it’s completely free. For full features, plus other amazing ones I’ll be adding, it’ll be $9 per month. If you sign up at launch, you’ll be locked in at that price until you choose to cancel (but why would you!?). Later, the price will go up to $12 per month for everyone else.
Building an app is challenging. For the past few weeks, I’ve been making it better. It’s frustrating, when a single misplaced “,” or “{“ can make or break and entire application, but once it all works, it kind of feels like magic.
Seriously, it’s like alchemy.
One thing that I worked on these past few days, was to make the writing real estate larger.
Before, it was fine, like so.
However, I think it looks better like the version, below. There’s more room. It just feels better.
As you may have noticed, there’s a 25 minute sprint, timer. That’s for Pro users. But don’t worry, free users also get a sprint timer, it’s just limited to 10 minutes. The idea behind this is to encourage you to write if you’re feeling stuck.
Once I share the link, you’ll see all of the different features. Test it out before you commit to making a monthly payment. But I think you’ll love it! And if you do, I’d certainly hope you consider upgrading It’ll mean the world to me, and it’ll allow me to grow it and make it better. Seriously, I have so many great ideas.
Lumina is a clean, calming writing studio for writers. No matter what other features I may add in the future, it will always remain clutter free. You can organize your chapters, build your characters, write without distraction, and export your manuscript without fighting your software.
Let me ask you this. What would your ideal writing app have? What do you struggle the most with as a writer?
I’m looking forward to reading your responses.
I’m excited to launch it soon! Remember, early users will get access on May 4th! I will email you the link individually.
Thanks for reading.
